History and Information
Tay Valley Credit Union is a member owned and controlled financial co-operative with membership open to Local Authority employees in Fife.

Its aim is to encourage regular saving and provide an easy way to save money through payroll deduction. Members can apply for loans with competitive rates of interest.

Formed in late 1995 for employees of the then Tayside Regional Council, Tay Valley Credit Union now offers membership to all local authorities in Fife and Tayside.

They have over £2M in member savings and have, since their launch, issued loans totalling over £20M to members.

Members can check their balances, submit withdrawal and loan applications online 24/7 through the TVCU website.

Member savings, up to a balance of £85,000 are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Volunteers from the membership, all current or ex-Council employees, form the committees that manage the credit union on behalf of all members.
